PNW Central Market Weigh-Off Oct 12

Giant Pumpkin Growers from the Pacific Northwest and
as far away as British Columbia and Montana are set to
compete in the 1st Annual Central Market Weigh-Off on
Saturday, October 12, 2002 in Shoreline, Washington.
Registration begins at 7 A.M., and the Weigh-Off
begins at 9 A.M. Everyone is welcome to come out and
join in the Fantastic Fun Festivities!!!

Growers will be competing for over $5,000.00 in prize
money. There will also be a Children’s Division for
age 12 and under. 

Geneva Emmons, from Sammamish, Washington, the current
World Record Holder for the largest pumpkin, and Kirk
Mombert, from Harrisburg, Oregon, the World Record
Holder for the largest squash will both be competing.
Bring your copy of “How To Grow World Class Giant
Pumpkins” and they will gladly autograph their chapter
and picture.

Each contestant will receive a special commemorative
T-Shirt from Central Garden Market marking this
Inaugural event.

Tour one of the most amazing supermarkets in the
Northwest, and enjoy great food from any one of the
locations in their food court. There will also be
available caramel apples, cocoa, and apple cider. 

Russ and Pam Leno will be there sculpting one of their
pumpkin masterpieces.

For the kiddies there will be a coloring exhibition,
hayrides and much more.

The Pacific Northwest Giant Pumpkin Growers and
Central Market wish to make this event a fun and
exciting occasion for the growers, their families and
all the spectators. Come be a part of what will soon
be a Northwest Tradition and a yearly pilgrimage for
Giant Pumpkin Growers from all over the region.

From Northbound I-5: Exit at 145th, (exit#175) turn
left (west) onto 145th, turn right (north) onto Aurora

155th, turn left on 155th, go straight through 1st
light across Westminster Way N.

From Southbound I-5: Exit at 175th, (exit #176) turn
left on Aurora Ave. N. (Hwy. 99) drive 2 miles to
155th, turn right on 155th go straight through 1st
light, across Westminster Way N. LOOK FOR THE GIANT
PUMPKIN ON THE ROOFTOP!!
