Subject: Growth pains
As this hobby explodes in growth it becomes
more complicated.
When painful or tough predicaments occur even though
we don’t like the conflict, these are the times that seem to teach us
the most. At least for me they are.
Not that anyone would care
what I think I have to express to say my peace and be done
with it.
No one knows their fruit better than the grower.
As the
number of fruits increase at weigh-offs the task of the inspectors gets
tougher especially now .
Virtually impossible to give fruit the intense
inspection one would want since it seems many think that’s
the last hurdle they have to cross. And that once past that theres no
recourse. Thats a huge burden on a judge/inspector.....personally I
think its being interpreted wrong.
Hell do we want this to be like
airport security bring your fruit 4 hours early and take a microscope to
them cause we can’t trust anyone or make any mistakes.
Or do we want to
rely on personal character and integrity of the grower. That some of the
responsibility is on him/her to really check their fruit over and play
straight. And if it is not sound from rot its no ones fault but the grower.
You step up to the plate , face the music and walk cause this
temptation to do other is a trap............. thats the integrity I have
learned and have witnessed most the time for the last 8 years
playing this game
That’s the integrity that money can’t
sway...........there is so many wonderful people in this hobby I am happy to
be part of it all. Its not only fun but have learned a lot valuable
lessons.
I said my peace and will shut up now -- feel better
thanks.....MB
