New Saskatchewan Weigh-off for 2003

Just to let every one know my friend from windmill greenhouses and myself will be putting together a weigh-off next year and any one wishing to attend is welcome, this weigh-off will be in conjunction with the city of Moose Jaw's year long 100 year celebrations...

To help pump every one up for next year's growing season and weigh-off around this area and to attract new growers here we will be displaying "Wilbour" and "Jack" (short for Jack-o-Lantern) at the local five star Hotel and Casino complex "Temple Gardens Mineral Spa and Resort" starting Oct. 6th after the weigh-offs in Smoky Lake. Later in October both will be carved and lit up for Halloween.

For you that don't know about "Wilbour" and "Jack"....

"Wilbour" is our back up pumpkin for the weigh-offs and tapes out at 138" Circ. 87" SS and 88.5" SB with an OTT of
313.5 or 617lbs.

"Jack" (just posted in grower diaries) is our ace in the hole and was kept a tight secret until the friend decided to stop and stay a night at Smoky Lake from a trip to Cold Lake Alberta. He says he wanted to check the place out prior to the weigh-off, he also mentioned banners are up and the town is a buzz for next weeks three day Pumpkin-fest activities. All in all he talked to a few growers from there and told them about "Jack" and that we would be bringing him up for the weigh-offs... Had I known he was going to stop in Smoky Lake I would have told him to keep his mouth shut but I guess they would find out about him sooner or later...
"Jack" measures out at an impressive 173" Circ. 101.5" SS
and 103.5 SB for an OTT of 377.5 or 1030lbs.
