Weighing Your Pumpkin

I have given great consideration to this problem of weighing a pumpkin before
it goes down and since I hope next year (not this year) to break the world
record, I have a plan. The problem with weighing your pumpin just before it goes
down means that you just might sacrifice a few pounds by jumping the gun.
With this in mind I plan to grow each of my pumpkins on digital scales. That way
I can weigh them every night and morning and submit the weight I got just
before the hole occurred. I think the scales will cost around $1000 each and this
might prove to be acceptable should I grow the new world record. Anyone want
to buy some scales with me as I think we can get a better deal buying in bulk.
Any comments? Also the metal scales will keep the pumpkins off the ground and
prevent such things as bottom rot and holes from mice through the bottom etc
etc. 10 days to weighoff for the GPC. Good luck to all. Now is not the time for
a big pumpkin to go down.
