Yes, you can weigh a pumpkin while it is still on the vine just make sure you
have lots of slack in it (the vine). It will probably do some damage to the
pumpkin though. I picked my 880 up while it was still on the vine to look at
the bottom and like I thought there was a split on it. If the bottom would
have been fine I could have set it back down and left it on the vine till the
weigh off.
