I used sand bags that were only filled 1/4 of capacity and then any irregularities on the bottom would conform to the sand for stability.

I've used both 4" foam (cushion type) and 2" styrofoam for hauling pumpkins. I've hauled them on both without any problems. I've made two trips to Canby (1100 miles round trip) and never had a problem. The styrofoam is cheaper andeasier to come by. Brian Christensen In a message dated 9/22/2007 10:45:12 P.M. I set my pumpkins on a tarp and they seem to ride well and I have had no problems taking them to a weigh off 45 miles away. Do you use: 1) Styrofoam (thickness and type of styrofoam) 2) Rug 3) Tarp 4) A combination of the above 5) Other Thanks for your input.
