Does any one know why a stem starts to go soft? I am afraid I hit the
end of the growth rope. I have had no gain for 6 days and the stem
seems to be getting soft where it meets the vine. I see no evidence of
insect entering through a hole in the stem. The stem seems to be
intact, just softening. I do bathe it with bleach and waterand pay
special attention to the stem. What do I do to protect it from
rotting? And can anyone offer potential cause to this ugly effect? The
second pumpkin is still going/ growing strong!
Thanks
Bridgette
