We have a pumpkin with a split that formed @ three weeks ago. We applied
Borax and Captan to the split. We applied a straight Borax paste every other
day for the last 10 days and have "interesting results". The fruit is
growing and the stem is "scabbed" and obviously conducting water. I am not
ready to conclude that the Borax is the direct or indirect solution to stem
rot. However, I feel that this treatment warrants further tests.

Observations are observations. I would like to see further data on this
matter. At this time, Borax has SEEMED to treat stem rot.
