RE: Flowers

Hey George,
Let's coordinate after the season. I would be interested in comparing
genetics from the Bhaskaran seeds with yours. I am available on or off site.
My Bhaskaran fruit are 731 and 441 at this point. Something is different
with our situations. Let's work it out if possible.

Steve,

Hate to tell you this, but it was Bhaskaran plant where I was having my most

problems. From the very beginning, the male flowers on this plant died
before they flowered. Later in the season, some finally opened and they did
not have a stamen. The flowers would stay open for weeks before they would
die.

It was cold early and then in the first week of July it really got hot in
our area. August was a good month for growing here, but that is when two
more of my plants had this male flower problem. This also happened to two
other Rochester growers. We plan to get together after the pumpkin season
and see if we did something which might have caused this problem. We all do
things a little bit differently and all of us have soil tests, but maybe we
all did something similar which caused the problem.

I appreciate all the comments from you all on this male flower problem.
