Mike from Atlanta here. My biggest, estimated 350-400 pounds is about to
return to her base elements. She's developed a soft spot on her back and
it's only a matter of time. 400 pounds might seem like small potatoes by
Ontario standards, but this far south, it's a pretty good pumpkin. I've
still got one in the low 300's I'm going to take to the couty fair next
week.
If anyone out there has any experience growing giant pumpkins this far
south in the summer I would sure like to hear from them. Any tips on
seed stocks that have proven themselves in warmer than normal conditions
would be appreciated as well.
