The Child of the 1006 "The Living Dead", passed away yesterday from the fatal
Blossom End Split that occurred on 8/7. Cause of death was contamination of
the seed cavity from air getting in at the time of the split. An autopsy was
conducted tonight and well matured seeds were removed. A Dark Gray Mold
covered 25% of the bottom of the cavity spreading outward from the blossom
end. There was little advanced decay except for one spot in the front.

A few words were said at a service held in the garden before the burial in the
compost tonight. Hopefully it’s child "Nitro" will do better next year from
it's seed.
