Re: Another one bites the dust

Scott,

Keep your chin up. I have been at this for 5-years, and I am yet to bring my
biggest pumpkin to the weigh-off.Phytophthora has destroyed my season again
this year. I fumigated my soil last fall( cost $400.00) I was on a top notch
(costly) spray program and I still went under. About a month ago I had 3
really good pumpkins, two on the Castellucci 682 and one on my 567.4. The
biggest on the Castellucci was close to 500 lbs and growing 17 lbs a day. I am
in the process of putting my home up for sale and moving to new pumpkin
grounds. People look at me weird when they ask why are you moving? and I
respond with, my soil is heavy with poor drainage and the phytophthora in my
area keeps ruining my pumpkin patch! All I have left to do this season is
sterilize anything that has come in contact with my soil! Alot of work and no
fun. Good luck to everyone the rest of the way
