Ants usually don't do any harm directly. They can contribute to plants being
infested with aphids. They carry the aphids up onto tha plant leaves and
"farm" them for the honeydew they produce, which the ants use for food. But
unless you notice a problem starting with aphids, there is no need to worry
about ants.
