Sprayers

Pumpkin Flower, No advice on where to get one but before you buy one try
it on, they can be miserable. I do commercial weed control on remote sites
of Corp. of Eng. land. As much as possible I try to use my 150 ft of
airhose on an ATV. When that fails I use a backpack. I always remove the
cheap plastic straps that come with the sprayer and in my case I remove the
plastic wand and go to metal. I replace the straps with a backpack harness
and chest strap made of webing and adjustable. I then add a backpad(the
centerpiece of an old life vest or a sample square of deeppile carpet).
The srayer straps, original, are not well enough padded to stop the cutting
action on your shoulders, they also let the sprayer roll backward to rest
on your hips(not good). Once you are setup tape the sprayhose to the right
or left(depending on which you spray with) front lower part of the frame.
This way when you put the sprayer on you don't have to chase the hose, it
will be right there by your hand. The above modification let me run one
upto 10-12 hrs a day with minimal hurt. I try to buy in the $60. range so
I can afford my xtras. The harness I buy is very well padded in all
contact points. You have to have a cheststrap or bellyband to prevent the
rollback motion. My work motto is to avoid them as much as possible but
its not always. Have fun. Roger
