The Pumpkin Blanket

The Pumpkin Blanket
by Pumpkin Flower

I've covered up my pumpkin now
With cool air setting in
The cold wet grass is on my toes
And dark surrounds within
The blanket is the one we bought
So long ago and yet
Protects our sleeping giant from
The Fall chill you can bet
The leaves have started turning and the moon
It shines so bright
A harvest moon will wax and shine
Just when the time is right
To pick the pumpkins and to bring
Them over to the Fair
For all to see our giant fruit
Presented for them there
So go tonight my fellow friends
And cover-up with care
And keep your pumpkins warm and tight
We'll meet you over there
