Hi all,
Just found out about a small town contest and figured I'd pass it along.
It's going to be in Fairfield, PA at Willow Pond farm on Sept. 26th.
(Fairfield is just down the road from Emmitsburg, MD.) Entries will be
taken on the 25th and before noon on the 26th. Judging will be between
noon and 2:00.
$3.00 entry fee will be donated to the Gettysburg Soup Kitchen.
3 categories will be judged by 3 Adams County master gardeners.
Heaviest-$50 Largest girth-$25 "looks most like the ideal Halloween
pumpkin"-$25
Small town fun, good cause, pumpkins and pumpkin people. I'll be there
with "Alexandra" (about 170"ott) if I can get out of work.
"Shamu", also about 170" ott will be at the Frederick fair this coming
week. They're not very big, but if you grow 'em, might as well show 'em.
Besides, embarassment builds character.
