Hi everyone,
I weighed my largest pumpkin Saturday morning on a certified scale in front
of several credible (more or less) witnesses. "Delores" measured 122.5-76-75
and weighed 420 pounds. She was the result of a self-pollinated 815 Anderson
and definitely a pumpkin. Though the state of Georgia officially keeps no
such records, research through several agricultural agencies and
organizations has not turned up one bigger. As a result, she will take over
the Georgia slot on Duncan's state record list beating the previous record
of 403. Pictures and a newspaper article will be sent to the SPGA c/o Joe
Mills for verification.
