Picked it?! Why? I have a Burpee Prizewinner that has been finished growing
for about a month but I am just leaving it on the vine. I figure the sooner I
pick it, the shorter it will last. Maybe I am wrong. I read somewhere that a
properly cured pumpkin in proper storage can last over a year. I had a
Halloween pumpkin last year that lasted until February, that's the longest I
had one! Oh well. Hey post the weight as soon as you find out. What is the
OTT measurement? My biggest so far is from the 618 Wallace, it is about 90
inches in circumference, and a total of about 200 inches OTT. It hasn't been
growing much at ALL in the last week, which makes me nervous. I thought it was
only about midway done. The temperature got warmer though the last couple of
days, it is about 86 or so now! Maybe that will help, I hope.
Anyway about drying seeds, I think you can just spread them out on a clean
surface in a cool, dark and dry place for a few days. That's about it!
