I've found AG's to be fine for cooking, but ohhhhhhhhhhhhh so much water
content.I never boil em, cut the sections,and place in roasting pan skin
side up in the oven and bake at around 350 till flesh is soft and you can
scoop it right out of the shell. I've found that you have to check
periodically though to drain off some of the water while cooking ( I've had
an overflow or 2 in my experience as the flesh cooks it releases a great
deal of moisture)
