Hi Beth,
The Elk Grove/GPC weigh-off is this weekend Oct. 3. You can register
your entries at the park between 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. Weigh-off
starts around 9:30.
Elk Grove is located about 15 miles south of Sacramento, CA. It can be
reached by either Hwy 99 or Interstate 5. From Sacramento head south on
Hwy 99 and exit at Elk Grove Blvd. Turn left on Elk Grove Blvd about 1
mile, turn Rt on Elk Grove-Florin Rd. Go about 1 mile just past the High
School and you'll see the entrance to Elk Grove Park.
>From Interstate 5 exit at Elk Grove Blvd. Head east on Elk Grove Blvd
about 6 miles, cross over Hwy 99 and then go about 1 mile to Elk
Grove-Florin Rd. Turn Rt on Elk Grove-Florin Rd. Go about 1 mile just
past the High School and you'll see the entrance to Elk Grove Park.
There is a $5.00 per car parking fee to enter the park. We sent a free
parking pass to the entries that preregistered. I'll see what we can do
about getting you on a list. We definitely need to get you on our CA
growers list. It might be too late to send it in the mail, but you can
call Zach Jones who's with the Parks & Rec Dept at 916-685-7902 to try &
have them send it to you.

Heftiest Pumpkin (adult open)
Heftiest Pumpkin Grown in Sacramento County (adult open)
Future Farmer Pumpkin (18 and under)
Future Farmer Pumpkin Grown in Sacramento County (18 and under)
Hefty Pumpkin Mystery Weight (two cash prizes to the pumpkins weighing to
within 1/2 lb of a pre-determined mystery weight) This is for the Adult
Open and the Future Farmer Categories.
Mystery Spots - cash prizes will be awarded to two predetermined mystery
spots
Weightiest Watermelon
Squishiest Squash
