More hermaphrodite flowers!
What is with this?! I just found MORE mixed male/female flowers on my 780
Mombert (567.5 Mombert x 946.5 Geerts)! (780 was off the same plant as the
937.5 Mombert 98).
What is going on?! Everyone tells me this is very rare, and I am finding
several of them now. And no, they can't pollinate themselves, since there is
no ovule (boby pumpkin-to-be) underneath, just a pistol in the middle of a
split stamen.
I am going to try to get some pictures tomorrow. Hey, if anyone wants one of
these flowers to study or whatever, let me know! If anyone has any ideas what
might be causing this, let me know too! This is too weird!
