Beer recipe
As I mentioned I am having computer problems...Well I typed out the beer recipe,equiptment
list,procedures,ingerdient list this eve,all ready to post (for me a poor typist,
an eve's work)and WHOOSH it vanished somewhere without a trace even having been
"saved"!
Please have patience,I'm about out of it!
Now to show you what the rest of my day has been like...yesterday I called the
county extension office and spoke with a "Master Gardner" to find out my local
frost date as we have a number of micro-climates in this area due to Puget Sound
and the mountains. The guy that answered said he didn't know for sure hold on,I
heard him ask "Hey you guys know...". I heard three different "no" answers in
the background, the guy holding the phone said "What shall I tell him?". background)
"Umm tell him that he should be ok till about Oct.12th no problem".This pleased
me as I have two about the size of large Cantalope and hope to have something
for the kids to carve.
This morning I opened the curtins and looked out to see the normaly heavy dew
we have was a solid sheet of ICE on top of the cars!! The forecast had said
lows in the mid 40's! As the one replacement plant I still have warmed up and
wilted it showed I lost all the leaves on the smaller main vine that has one
set on it, the vine and fruit look ok, wonder what will happen there. There
was damge to some leaves on the main vine where the other larger fruit is set
about 3 feet out but the fruit is ok and the center of the plant had some minor
damage, is ok for the most part.
So now I will be covering every night and out there before the sun hits the
plastic, uncovering for the next month or so.Oh yea the neighbors Great Dane
Pup (100+lbs) has been getting loose and runs full tilt thru the garden area.
Can anyone tell me what the early frost may cause the plant and the fruit to
do?
