Hi Rocky
Same thing will occur here this weekend I believe. The stem is going on my 
697, I've applied Captan and have had fan running in the patch for the last 
3-4 days. The rot is progressing to the pumpkin so I think it's time to act. 
I'm thinking of cutting it and doing some surgery to try and save it for 
weighoff. I have a smaller one on a Geerts plant that is gaining on and I 
suspect will pass the 697 which is around 430lb.

Great pictures of Larry's pumpkin on your page. I took a drive over his way 
last Sunday to get a look at it. I gotta tell you it was IMPRESSIVE. 
I have to say the same about his wife Gerry's apple pie.
