RE: unrealistic to hope for +20% growth from day 65 on?

Last year Lumpy went from 241" OTT on September 16 to 267.5 OTT on October
5. That is a 25% gain i
over 4 weeks at the end of the season. This was a smaller pumpkin than
yours, that ended up weighing in at 429 lbs. I also grow in western
Washington where we seem to have more late season growth than other areas of
the country, it seems to help make up for our slow start due to cooler
weather conditions. Maybe this information will give you some hope though.
I am hoping for a repeat performance this year as weather conditions in this
part of the country put all gardening behind schedule this year. Not much
warm weather this year and none of it sustained for any length of time has
made it a challenging season for Northwest growers. I'll be taking a couple
out of the patch tonight to take to the Puyallup fair. I'm looking forward
to the opportunity to compare notes on this season with other local growers.

Best of Luck,
