RE: CT. UPDATE 937 Mombert & 974 Mettler

Hello All,

I wanted to add my testament to these awesome tarps. Mine carried a 457
pounder without any problems at all. In fact, due to the conditions of the
day and the placement of the pumpkin, it got filthy with topsoil, and some
other junk that was in the bed of my truck. This goo all washed off with a
garden hose, and it looks like new. Great job on the material Alan!

The funny thing is, that after seeing how light weight this tarp is, I
wanted to test it. I brought it to my company picnic and we were tossing
people into the air with it!!! In fact we were LAUNCHING people and CATCHING
them with it!

(BTW, some of these people were heavier than a lot of the pumpkins we have
been reading about here. <g>)

Well, wish me luck... I am a first time grower and I am cutting my only
pumpkin "Beefcake" free tonight to bring him to the fair. He measures in at
210 OTT, official weight to follow.

Thanks,

	John

Pumpkin addicts,
Harvested my 937 Mombert Fruit yesterday. This pumpkin
had
not grown in the last month and was pol. on 6-24-99. Good orange color,
shaped like a small Zehr 1061. Final measurements were 118.5x85x80.5=284OTT.
By chart 469lb. Actual weight 518lb. about 11% over chart, +49lbs. Four
other
fruit on this plant. One has a high top like a Dolphin the others are barrel
shaped.
974 Mettler picked 8-22-99. Had also stopped growing. Grew upside down
Big
flat pancake. Weight 420lb light colored. Final 118.5x77.25x71=266.75. By
chart 395lb. Three other fruit on this plant. Plus 25lb.
I was unable to get enough water to these plants. We had no rain during
their growth spurts. I think both seeds are capable of more. I would plant
them again.

As a final note Roy, George,Marv,Mathew and Reggie your Tarps are on their
way. I included free seeds from the 420 LB (974 Mettler x 1056.5 Stellpflug)
and seeds from another cull of mine this year about 340lb. (597 Reynolds x
1056.5 Stellpflug) The 597 Reynolds is from (833 Handy x 906 Handy). This
seeds will be included in all Tarp orders until gone. If anyone still needs
a
Tarp please order early they are going fast and I have to order 25 at a
time.
If it gets to close to Oct 2 and I've sold out I may not have more made this
year. I don't want to hold to many thru the winter. (The dreaded dead zone
for pumpkin growers!) The price again was $69 +$7US S&H + $11 S&H Canada.
