Beast trouble!

We have had about a week of rain and I was looking over my last pumpkin [the beast] I decided to check the crack I pasted off and on for the last month and the screwdriver went right threw!!!!!   It must have been rotting under the past.               I was planning to take it to a pumpkin festival then show it at a  local farm, can the hole be sealed for a few week's to at lease show it at the farm or sould I just cut out the seeds and have a drink or two!  They had my picture with the pumpkin on the front page of are local paper today.Talk about highs and lows in one day.    Thank's Don
