Here are the rules for the Topsfield Fair in Mass.(one of the largest GPC
sites)
1)Pumpkins must be free of splits and soft spots.(Minor blemishes are okay)
2)Pumpkins must be predominantly orange or yellow-orange.
3)Judges decision is final on soundness and color.
4)Pumpkin must be free of all foreign matter (fungicides, wax, ect.)
5)In order to qualify for the first prize check of $3500.00 the grower will
allow the pumpkin to be displayed, under cover, in the vegetable barn for
the duration fo the 10 day fair.
