I wanted to let growers know in the Midwest that there has been a shortage of
pumpkins the last couple of years at the WPC weigh-off site in DesPlaines,IL.
This will be the last year Pesche's Flower Shop holds the event if we don't
get
the numbers up. This would be ashame. Those who have attended the event
in the past, knows Chis puts in 110%. He offers free food and drink, Modest
prize money and WPC awards. This is the second site I have been associated
with that has mentioned Conflicts with the WPC. If I have to find a new home
next year it will be sanctioned by a different pumpkin organization or
privately.
