Re: Planting Tiny Seeds

It seems that everyone has their "pet tool" for planting small seeds and
transplanting delicate seedlings. Mine is a "nut picker" (I'm sure
there is a proper name for this item!) You know, when you eat a walnut
and you have to pick all the bits out of the corners?! It works great
for tiny seeds, especially if you only have a packet to plant. I pour
out the seeds onto a clean white piece of paper, then moisten the tip of
the tool and touch it against the first seed to lift it. I then place
the tip into the medium, and the seed usually stays there without much
fuss. This is a great method, especially for expensive seeds, to ensure
each seed lands in its own cell (which eliminates transplanting at the
"tiny" stage), but definitely not for anyone with no patience or tons of
seed to plant!

Hope this helps someone!
