Most permanent ink comes off quite readily with isopropyl alcohol. In my
organic chemistry classes we used acetone as a semi-universal solvent.
It is likely that one of the new fangled paint strippers would do the job if you
are uncertain as to the properties of the particular permanent ink you used.
I was told that they are 1 part acetone and 1 part isopropyl alcohol and (?).
I use prepackaged isopropyl alcohol swabs from the drug store.
