With respect to the purpose of the list, I should have added that
Salpiglossis may be better to sow in flats, as I do the related Petunia.
The seeds are very tiny, and Salpiglossis I've sown direct outdoors has
had a number of problems related to this, very likely being easily
buried, and washed or blown away. Fortunately, this remarkable flower
should have no other critical requirements and should be safe to surface
sow in flats.
