     A garden I worked in had one about 6 feet wide by 6 feet high.  I got 
     two strong boys with shovels and picks (the ground was very hard, 
     too), and they slowly worked their way in from the outside, hacking 
     roots apart.  The owner took cut portions with roots and gave them 
     away to all her friends.  Avril

Would anyone out there have a few tips for dividing a rather large bird 
of paradise.........
