I totally agree and am sure that many
correspondents are spreading diseases by using this method. Bottom
watering tends to result in saturation and, if the media is poorly
drained may suffocate young roots. Also, if you must bottom water
please do not dip successive flats in the same trough as you are
simply sharing the diseases around (how would you like to take a bath
in water recently used by several other animal species? ...rather
graphic but it may help the understanding of the problem)
