Having several cats, dogs, goat, horses, and a large vegy garden and flower
gardens (4acres) I'd like to adress the cat garden problem. a squirt gun
filled with plain ole water is the best cat training tool(long range type)
Squirt the cats when they are in a place you don't want them (works with
dogs, goats, even horses.) works on the nighborhood cats and strays. I feel
some of the crueler aproaches i've read are very wrong. gardening is part of
nature and so are pets. I have a backyard animal and plant sanctuary.
People love to stop by and see the native species of wildlife(plant and
animal) and my pets. The only native species I don't have(gladly) are
voles, moles and some mice (all destructive to gardens) I've never lost a
bird, rabbit squirel or plant of any kind due to my pets. The cats and dogs
give my gardens a wide birth. I've never had any animal feces (except rabbit
and added organic fertilizers) in my gardens. enough said. garran@memes.com
