Rooting Hormone & Edibles

I honestly don't know about how roooting hormones metabolize, all I know
is what the labels tell me, "for ornamentals only". While I would
scarcely suggest getting too useful with Artemisias (pregnant women
avoid) to anyone who cannot draw half of the several hundred
sesquiterpenoid lactones in their sleep, the economic uses of Artemisias
are probably worth a book by themselves, including many, many Indigenous
uses (New Age bookstores tend to peddle bundles of Sagebrush as incense)
including seeds for food and foilage as toiletry.

I am honestly much more concerned about herbs far more likely to get
into a teacup, like Bee Balms (Monarda sp.) or Horehound (Marrubium
vulgare), but it is disturbing how many times I hear herbal authorities
say to use rooting hormone for such things as if they are oblivious to
the package directions. Thank gosh for mints (Mentha sp. cv.'s), who
"progate themselves" i.e. no hormones necessary) I am just wondering how
one might live without them in general if necessary...

That is all I know.

Good Gardening!
Rob
