Rich,
As a horticultural variety, 'Bowles Mauve' is best propagated from
cuttings. Seeds, if available, are not likely to produce very uniform
offspring.
Cuttings of new growth, following flowering, root very readily in a
covered frame, and make a good sized plant faster than seed would. You
should be able to take a hundred or more cuttings from a single
established plant [and the parent would look better the following year for
the pruning], so it shouldn't be hard to get material for a mass
planting in this manner.
You might be interested, aslo, in looking for the variegated form of this
variety. It's equally easy from cuttings, and widely available.
