I try to keep my flourescent lights about 3 inches above the seedlings. I
don't have any problem with long leggy seedlings. I also keep the lights (on a
timer) on for 16 hours a day, Usually from 6:00 AM until 10:00 PM. After the
seeds germinate and have grown a little, I move them from the heating mat to a
non-heated table, also under lights. Same amount of time for them. I use cool-
white bulbs.
