RE: IBA as solution
I have been an advocate of using IBA dry powder rooting hormones. In Europe
almost all of the growers us it.
In the US most of the researchers (for example the Jounal of the American
Society of Horticultural Science) mostly use the solutions in successful
trials. Since IBA salts dissolve in alcohol (insoluble in water) there is a
potential toxicity of the alcohol on plant tissue.
I want to know if it is beneficial to switch over from dy dip to the
solutions....
I found that IBA Water Soluble Salts are distributed to hort suppliers by
Phytotronics (314-770-0717); I spoke with James there. He said to order from
my local supplier who should order from them. He was nice enough to send me
a plant rooting handbook with specialized info on how to total immerse and
spray. The product seems to be for commercial growers.
