I'd also wonder about how easy it would be for roots to penetrate the rather solid flesh of the potato and then how to you get the cutting out without tearing the roots apart.Don, The skin of the potato would keep moisture in the flesh of it, but there would be no humidity protection for the leaf portion of the cutting unless you put the whole thing under glass. I'm wondering if potatoes provide hormones or whatever similar to those found in willows that would enhance rooting capability. Kitty
