There is a little gadget sold in the UK which plugs into an ordinary off the
shelf segmented timer. Its called a Timer Modifying Unit when plugged into
the timer it allows you to have the main timer going off at say every 15 or
30 mins and then the TMU will drop this to 5,10,15,20,25,30,40,60,90 seconds
or continuous.
They are very excellent I use one in my greenhouse and are 27 pounds
sterling.
There is also one in minute increments of 2,3,4,5,7,9,11 or continuous.
