TIGRIDIA - Peacock flower.
"short lived, from seasonally dry sands and grassland"
"in frost prone areas, grow outdorrs and lift in autumn or grow as container
plants in cool greenhouse"
"lift bulbs after flowering and overwinter in dry sand at about 50 degrees
"frost tender"
"grow outdoors in well-drained, preferably sandly fertile soil in full sun"
"water freely when in growth"
"sow seed at 55 -64 degrees in spring, seperate offsets when dormant."
"prone to viruses"
All of these quotes are from the RHS Encyclopedia
Hope the above helps. From the above, you might have had them in the wrong
soil, not free draining enough maybe? Or see note prone to virus
I put the other info in, in case you had not heard that they had to be
lifted in fall
