Following is part of an update from Garden Web regarding victims of
Hurricane Mitch...Maybe we can all help in the spirit of the season:)
While most of us are thinking about how we'll be celebrating
the holiday season, many people in Central America have more
pressing concerns. Hurricane Mitch has devastated much of the
region. Thousands of lives were lost. Whole communities were
left covered in mud, and much of the infrastructure has been
damaged.
A group of GardenWeb users has decided to help alleviate the
problems of Mitch's victims. The group has named itself
Sembremos Seeds of Hope. Since most of the people of Central
America are small farmers, and most of us are gardeners, the
group decided to seek donations of seeds and tools from the
GardenWeb community and beyond.
Working through established non-profit organizations, Sembremos
Seeds of Hope has created a conduit so your donations can reach
those most in need.
