Re: seed mix for starting veggies

Hello,

I grow vegetable seedlings for sale. The mix I use is very simple and I mix
it myself. I use half peat or coir (coco fiber......and, no, it's not
salty) and one quarter perlite, one quarter vermiculite. I have seen
commercial germinating mix that is simply half peat and half vermiculite.

The only thing about a seeding mix like this is you must start fertilizing
your seedlings with a weak solution of a water soluable fertilizer after
about the 3rd or 4th watering after the seedlings are up. If you do that,
there is good success with germination.

Hope this helps. Cindy in TX, Z8/9
