I'm not an expert on trees, in general, but I was always taught that if the seeds are
hard (like a loquat), they need some preparation effort. If they are softer, like
dogwood or camellias, soaking or scoring the outside should not be necessary. WHAT
to start them in is another story. As an orchid grower, I would recommend that whatever
medium you decide to use, make sure its sterile. Wish I could be of more help.
