Allen, Do you add sharp sand to the mix? 
 
Does anyone have a favorite site that addresses the use of bottom heat and which plants will benefit from this
method?  Or perhaps, more importantly which plants dislike bottom heat.

we stopped using promix years ago and went to sunshine mix
it is more uniform
heat mats are the way to go BUT you must watch the temp. in the soil 70-75 is fine
some seeds die at 80
we use an indoor/outdoor thermometer to watch the soil temp.
