Hi Bill,
Thanks for replying, the temp was actually minus 28 deg C, but I've heard
from another subscriber that, that type is a herb perennial, not the shrub
type that I have. He also said that they(the hardy type) are a close
resemblance to a hollyhock, not the hibiscus.
I am very envious of your weather? You are mocking a Canadian!!! Seriously
though, it is around 0 deg C today, a very comfortable winter temperature.
I am a swimmer though and can't wait for it to be 28 degrees again(about 5-6
months). Where do you live in New Zealand? I'm also interested in
geography and hope to one day visit your corner of the world. The pictures
that we see of your country are all so beautiful! Have you ever been to
Canada? If you look at a map, we are in Ontario, on the shore of Lake
Huron, one of the great lakes. Look for Goderich,(a major port that handles
ocean going vessels, for shipment of wheat & sifto salt) we live in a small
village near Goderich. You may see Stratford on the map, & we are about 1/2
way between the two.
I have my map out waiting for your reply,
Angela
