Digging up the plant can safely be done by attaching a rope to a dogs tail
and making the dog run away.
We grow both M. autumnalis and M. officinalis. Seed soiurces that I know of
will only supply professionals. Best is to order the seed late summer. Then
gou have a chance getting relatively fresh seed. I sow outside in unheated
polytunnels. After a few weeks of frost I put the tray on a
propagation-mat. M. autumnalis has now allready germed like raddish seed. I
will soon be hardening off the seedlings before they will be transplanted.
