Hello all,
I'm new to the list and the field, so please excuse my lack of knowledge
and lingo. Being a practicing marine biologist, I am expected to thoroughly
understand any and all aspects of life on the planet by my better half, who
has a small cut flower and live plant trade. She absolutely must have
out-of-season blooming hydrangea plants (particularly June and July) in a
4"- 4 gallon size range, and is willing to invest considerable amounts of
my time and resources to get them. From what I've been able to gather so
far, small plants are only available for Easter and Mother's Day, and are
quite difficult to force any other time. I have spoken to a Dutch company
which has them on a year round basis, but have run up against live
plant/soil importation regulations. I will have a heated greenhouse and
plenty of older shrubs in the nursery to work with. The climate here is
similar to the mid-Atlantic states with a bit less sun. Any advice or
references will be appreciated.
Thanks
