Eva ---
take the cuttings now --it may be a little late, but who knows? Vitis -
(grape Vines) cuttings are traditionally taken from dormant
(internodal) hardwood cuttings during the winter. Take a stocky
well-developed cane from laast years growth, with short internodes
(where you see segmentations on the wood). Root promoting hormones
(auxins) nsupposedly do not help, however, I give mine a quick dip, then
place them into a bottom heated propagation tent with mist. Slowly,
they will form roots --do not remove too quickly - the first roots are
brittle.
Alternatively, you can layer the shoots in late spring using either
simple,trench or mound layering processes.
HOpe this helps.
