Hello.
Scabiosa is in the Dipsacaceae, the Teasel family.
Cephalaria also, I think.
I've tried about a dozen last year, surface sowing, and had a few
germinate, this year I'm trying more.
Usually, if I can't get it to start, it needs stratification so I'd
strongly suspect that some do.
About Market Research: I like to get 200 of anything in a package. This
allows me to spill some, mislabel some, trade a few, have my girlfriend
move me in with all my plants and then get a restraining order, a few
for the cats to dig (Sorry, Duncan), a few for the cat to knock over the
trays, a few more for the kids to knock over the trays, and still end up
with one or two plants, especially since whatever it is, no one will be
selling it again next year most likely.
Great gardening to all!
& Cheers!
